• Survives by 16 Children, 74 Grandchildren

Sarkin Kasuwan Gwantu, (Gwantu Market Chief), Chief Daniel Yaji Bauna, who died at the age of 85 penultimate week, was finally put to rest on 3/04/2021 in his country home, Ungwan Maikasa, in Gwantu District area of Sanga Local Government in Kaduna state.

Chief Bauna, a devout Christian and one of the most respected elderstatesmen among  Gwantu tribe is survived by two wives, 16 Children and 74 Grandchildren

Born on 11th May, 1936, Chief Bauna died after a brief illness on 18th March, 2021.

The late Chief who was described during the burial ceremony by the District Head of Gwantu, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir and other community/ religious leaders, friends and associates as an exemplary father, a patient and a gentleman per excellence, dedicated his life in the service of God and his Community.

Chief Bauna’s burial ceremony was attended by prominent sons and daughters of Gwantu of different religious persuasions who included the State’s Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, and other prominent politicians in the state.
