Gwantu People Progressive Union (GWAPPU) has commended Kaduna state government for its recent decision to restructure the Chiefdoms in Sanga Local Government, describing the decision as popular, progressive and a step in the right direction.
Reacting to the government’s decision, President of the Union, Prince Bala Audu, in an interview with Palace Monitor, said what the Kaduna state government has finally done is putting the record, that was deliberately and mischievously turned anti-clock-wise, straight.
“With the creation of Arak Chiefdom whose Chief will now be Numana, a tribe that makes up 98 % of the constituents of the Chiefdom, Gwantu Chiefdom has now retained its original and traditional name and will assume it’s leadership position as Chair of the three Chiefdoms”, Prince Audu highlighted.
He added that with this development, Gwantu will remain one of the most cosmopolitan Chiefdoms not only in Southern Kaduna, but, in the state, and which comprises of Gwantu tribe, Sanga (Aninka), Aboro, Nandu, Numbu etc.
Prince Audu pledged that with this gesture, Gwantu People will remain committed to their unalloyed support and loyalty to the Nasiru El-Rufa’i administration.
However, in a related development, Palace Monitor gathered that an aggrieved traditional leader in the state has been having nucturnal meetings with leaders of some tribes in Sanga local government and inciting them to reject the government’s decision.
