The Emir of Birnin Gwari in Kaduna state, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril Mai Gwari has decried that his people are facing existential threats, following unabated attacks by heavily armed gun men; calling on the Government to come to their rescue before the attackers took over the town after taking over almost all of its surrounding villages.

The Emir who spoke in an interview shortly after he escaped assassination attempt by the whiskers recently in Abuja – Kaduna road, lamented that the incessant attacks which has forced residents of almost all the villages that surround Birnin Gwari town to flee their homes to take shelter in the town, has subjected the people to abject poverty, following perpetual kidnappings and paying colossal amount of money as ransom.

He said apart from the trauma that his people, majority of whom are subsistent farmers, have been subjected to, they have also been deprived of farming which is their traditional trade of earning a decent living.

The Emir urged the Government to double their efforts in securing the lives and property of Nigerians by taking whatever steps required to save his people and all communities in the country where these bandits have established bases and having field days subjecting innocent souls to untold hardship and killing several others.

He therefore called on his people and all Nigerians to turn to the Almighty Allah, repent and seek for divine intervention, because, He is always ready to answer the prayers of the oppressed and those that turn to him in repentence
