The Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, has revealed that in line with the directive of the federal government that National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) should be the primary data collection centre, JAMB will use the National Identity Number for the conduct of its 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
Oloyede said the Board has concluded arrangements with the National Identity Management Commission to use NIN number for 2020 UTME.
The disclosure was made by the Registrar when he was visited in his office by the director of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dasuki Arabi.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) boss regretted that many Nigerian leaders started corruption by engaging themselves in examination malpractice when they were in school.
Prof. Oloyede regretted that examination malpractice in the country is mostly sponsored by parents. “Corruption is not peculiar in Africa or Nigeria. Regrettably, most of the measures deployed to fight corruption, more often than not, fail to yield desired results.” He buttressed.
