About Nineteen persons have indicated interest for the position of Rector, Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia.
Prominent among them are Professor Kyauta Tanygna, Professor Umar M. Gurku and Professor Shedrach Jatau.
Others include doctorate degree (PhD) holders namely Ruth Kefas, Alkali Attah Maku, Ibrahim Dauda, Ayuba Kawu, Hassan I. Ogiri, Dalhatu Musa Yusha’u, Jonathan Kuje, P. E. Kigbu, Sambo Mohammed and Usman Jibrin Idris.
The remaining are Usman Dalhatu Jibrin, Augustine Ali Gabu, Umaru Moh’d Zakka, Mohammed Salihu, Daniel Barau, Williams Ebuga and Dalhatu Usman Jibrin, all products of the Polytechnic system.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Institution’s governing Council, Dr Muhammad Bako, has denied the allegations that he has an annointed candidate.
“How can I field a candidate for the vacant position of Rectorship from applicant I did not know or see”, he stated.
He described the claim as baseless and urged the general public to disregard it in totality.
