The Provost of Federal College of Education Katsina, Dr Aliyu Idris Funtua, has hailed the appointment of Professor Tahir Mamman and Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu as Ministers of Education.
The Provost who, in a Goodwill Message, sent to the ministers through Education Monitor, described the appointment of Professor Mamman and Dr Sununu as excellent, looking at their pedigrees in both the academic and medical communities.
Dr Funtua who expressed optimism that with full support of all stakeholders in the education sector, coupled with the minister’s background, we are sure that the ministry will come up with game changing policies that will turn around the sector to the expectations of both the President and the citizenry.
Dr Funtua who is also the Ambassador of Katsina Scholars (Wakilin Malaman Katsina) prayed to the Almighty Allah to give the ministers good health, wisdom and long life to steer affairs of the ministry and to leave enduring and unparalleled legacies in not only the ministry, but in the education sector as a whole, which is the engine house and the key determinant of developments of all nations.
The Provost who is widely respected by both friends, colleagues and students as an epitome of scholarship, humility and discipline, also prayed to the Almighty Allah to guide Nigerian leaders aright, and to instill in them the compassion and divine knowledge needed to govern humanity.
