The Director General of Edo State Liaison Office in Abuja, Dcn Festus Osaigbovo has commended the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for providing spiritual leadership in Edo state community of Oza and its environs.
Dcn Osaigbovo gave the commendation at Oza community in Edo state as Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oza Zone, held a One Day Prayer Conference of Oza Indigenes, home and abroad tagged “Arise and Build – Season 2”.
Dcn Osaigbovo, in his contribution to the growth of God’s kingdom pledged his support for the building of CAN Secretariat but reiterated that the church must continue to take the lead in Nation Building and standing in the gap for sons and daughters of the land.
On community development, the DG responded to the address of the zone 2 CAN President by expressing shock displeasure over the fresh news of the few number of permanent teachers that Oza grammar school has, he thereby mandated the PTA Chairman who was also present to furnish him with the exact number of teachers needed in the school for onward request from the wake and see government.
On the issue of power, the DG, who explained the technicalities on the light matter, stressed that the issue has been officially presented to the Government and that the power challenge will soon be a thing of the past, he added that our amiable Governor has promised to renovate Oza Maternity.
The atmosphere in Oza Community was sonorous as the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oza Zone, held a One Day Prayer Conference of Oza Indigenes, home and abroad tagged: “Arise and Build – Season 2”.
The Prayer Conference, which took place at St. Andrews Anglican Church Oza, witnessed high turnout as Oza sons and daughters who trooped out in their numbers to grace the occasion and prayed for the land.
In his sermon, Rev Ighodaro stressed the need for Oza people to allow God into their hearts while noting that through Him alone can men be saved.
He averred that God blessed Oza with both human and material resources needed to advance the development of the community, hence the need for the people to embrace God and follow His teachings; emphasizing that obeying the word of God is the only way to attract His blessings to the land.
Pst Ernest Uyi Esq, Pst Dr Bright Omoregie, Dr. Nelson Ogbemudia, amongst others, led the Prayers to heal Oza land of Untimely Deaths, economic stagnation, Poverty, Insecurity, Devourers; praying for Good Health, Love, Unity and Progress to reign in land.
The congregants who were buoyed by the need to liberate the land from the hands of evil doers rained prayers torrentially to the rescue of the land.
Earlier, the CAN President of Oza zone, Pastor Ambrose, expressed the dearth of teachers and the need for permanent teachers in Oza grammar school, restoration of power to the area as well as the renovation of Oza Primary Health Center.
He appealed to those concerned to take his appeal to our wake and see governor or the appropriate quarters for necessary actions, to ameliorate the plight of the people living in the area.
He also stressed the need for a Secretariat for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the area.
