The entire Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) Community has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of its Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Prof Lawali Abubakar.
Professor Lawali who died in the early hours of today, Tuesday 28, in Sokoto after a brief illness will be buried later after Zuhur prayer when his family, friends, and colleagues would have arrived to pay their last respect to him.
Late Prof Lawali who until his appointment as Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic of the University, had held various academic and administrative positions in the University.
A dedicated ASUU activist, late Prof Lawali was at different times ASUU Chairman of the branch after which he served on committees and commissions of the Union at both local and national levels.
