Russia Offers Scholarship to Nigerian Participants at St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University ETU “LETI” Winter School Program

The government of Russian Federation has offered scholarships to three Nigerian participants of January 2020 winter school program at St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University ETU “LETI”.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship, according to the spokesman and Russian Embassy Attache in Nigeria, Mr. Ivan L, were drawn from the academic and media communities.
Commenting on the program, spokesman of the International Students Office of the University, Ms. Nika Domanova, said the Winter’s Program has a pretty diverse set of participants from different parts of the world, especially from the United States of America, Luxemburg, Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Finland, Italy, Nigeria etc.
Ms. Domanova revealed that while most of the participants of the University’s Winter Program are attending it by paid contract, that is, they paid for themselves, others are Russian government-funded; and there are also others who will be attending the program with complete funding from their respective Universities and Workplaces.
She said those that are government-funded, their scholarship only covers tuition fees for the course, but they will however be required to pay for their flights, dormitory fees and meals.
St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University ETU “LETI” is one of the oldest and one of the largest universities in Russia. It is a Russian Federal State-owned higher education institution reputed for having educated the majority of Russia’s political elites.
