A world renowned expert of Regional Economic Integration Law and Practice in Africa, Professor Muhammed Tawfiq Ladan, is scheduled to deliver a Lead paper at Professor Ngozi Egbuna International Centre for Regional Integration and Trade Research (ICRITR), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, on Wednesday, 13th, August, 2025.
The Maiden Hybrid International Conference and MSME’s Trade Exhibition is themed: “30 Years of Nigeria in WTO: Opportunities, Challenges and Prospects”
The conference which will kick off by 11:00 am at Academic Staff Union of Universities Auditorium of the institution will feature Nigeria’s former minister of Finance, Dr Boxing Okonjo-Iweala, who is the current director of World Trade Organization, as Keynote Speaker, while the Acting Vice-chance’lor of the University, Professor Carol C Arinze-Umobi, as Chief Host.
While the Vice-chance’lor of MIVA Open University, Nigeria, Professor Abraham Nwankwo, will be chairman of the occasion, the Director of the Centre, Professor Ngozi Egbuna will be the Host of the conference.
The Professor Ngozi Egbuna International Center for Regional Integration and Trade Research (ICRITR) aims to:
– Advance research: Conduct research on regional integration and trade, promoting evidence-based policy decisions.
– Empower traders: Provide training and certification programs for traders and entrepreneurs, enhancing their understanding of African trade and integration.
– Foster collaboration: Collaborate with institutions and organizations to advance trade-related research, teaching, and outreach.
– Promote regional trade: Facilitate trade integration and promote regional trade in Africa, particularly in the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ).
– Build capacity: Build capacity for research and analysis on trade and regional integration issues in Africa.
– Inform policy: Inform policy decisions on regional integration and trade through research and analysis.
