The Federal University of Education, Zaria (FUEZ) has received approval from the National University Commission (NUC) to commence 35 undergraduate degree programs.
According to a statement signed by Rakiya Sidi, Director of Information and Publicity, the NUC conducted a resource visit to the university in July 2025, paving the way for the launch of these programs.
The university will offer the 35 undergraduate degree programs across four faculties, namely Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts Education, Faculty of Science Education, and Faculty of Social Science and Vocational Education. The programs include B.Ed Educational Management, B.A. Ed English Education/Literature in English, (link unavailable) Ed Health Education, and (link unavailable) Ed Physics Education, among others.
To be eligible for admission, candidates must have scored 150 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and possess National Certificate in Education (NCE) certificates. The university is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Prospective students who have not chosen FUEZ as their first choice can visit any Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) center to obtain a change of institution form, which will enable them to make FUEZ their first choice.
The Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, expressed excitement about the development, stating that it marks a significant milestone in the university’s history.
The approved programs are categorized into four faculties. The Faculty of Education offers programs such as B.Ed Educational Management, B.Ed. Educational Technology, and B.Ed Early Childhood Education. The Faculty of Arts Education offers programs like B.A. Ed. English Education/Literature in English, B.A. Ed French Education, and B.Ed Arabic Education.
The Faculty of Science Education has programs such as (link unavailable) Ed Health Education, (link unavailable) Ed Human Kinetics, and (link unavailable) Physics Education, while the Faculty of Social Science and Vocational Education offers programs like (link unavailable) Ed. Political Science, B.A. Ed. Creative Art Education, and (link unavailable) Ed. Business Education.
Sidi, who said, “with the NUC approval, FUEZ is poised to provide quality education to students from all over the country”, stressed that “the university’s management is committed to ensuring that students receive the best possible education and graduate with the skills and *knowledge required to excel in their* chosen careers”
