The Kaduna Islamic cleric, Sheikh Haliru Abdullahi Maraya, has kicked against the Muslim-Muslim ticket that many people believe that the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu, will settle on.

However, when Sheikh Haliru Abdullahi Maraya reacted to this, according to Naija news, he claimed that using Muslim-Muslim ticket is not healthy for the country and it is against fairness and injustice that we should be preaching.
Sheikh Haliru claimed that no Muslim will ever accept a Christian-Christian ticket for the Presidency and if it happens, they will protest against it and it will be an injustice to do what they won’t take.
No religion has a monopoly of ruling and no religion has a monopoly on competent people and politicians that have the capacity to win the presidential election.
Nigeria has a population of over 200 million people, and we can’t pretend that we don’t know that we practice diverse religions in this country.
The call for Muslim-Muslim or Christians-Christians tickets means we don’t wish this country well. He further brings out the Quranic verse Q5:8, which says, “And do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just.”
