The Chancellor, Pro-chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University Keffi have lauded the Visitor of the Institution, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr Abdullahi Sule for his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the University.

In his address on the occasion of the 7th convocation of the University held Saturday, 27th May, 2023 on its Keffi main campus, the Chancellor and Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness (HRH), Alhaji Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa III, commended the governor for his dogged commitment to the growth and development of the University.

Speaking further, the royal father said Governor Abdullahi Sule “has contributed immensely and provided financial support for the fencing of Lafia and Gudi Campuses; provision of engineering equipment; facilitation of the commencement of the Faculty of Engineering in Gudi Campus.

“Only recently, he approved the take-over of full payment of salaries of staff of the Nasarawa State University. He has also entered into a Public-Private Partnership for the construction of 4000-bed Hostel for the University. For these and many more, we remain grateful to you, Your excellency”.

In the same vein, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Adamu David Baikie, who happened to be the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University, said,
“Let me place on record that the current Governor and Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi A Sule, has demonstrated strong commitment and determination to the growth and development of the University.

“As Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, I thank you most sincerely for your tremendous support and facilitation in infrastructural development, academic programme development, and the welfare of staff and students.”

On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, while acknowledging that Governor Sule had made tremendous contributions to the development of education in Nasarawa State.

Prof. Mohammed said, “He is one governor that allocates more than 30% of state budget to education, over and above the UNESCO recommended threshold of 26%. He is aptly described as the architect of modern Nasarawa State University by virtue of his immense contributions to the growth and development of the University.”

He Congratulated the Governor on his re-election for a second term in office and prayed that God may grant him wisdom and strength to sustain his commitments and actions in transforming Nasarawa State into an industrial hub.
