The Vice-chancellor of Nasarawa State University Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has approved the appointment of Dr Mohammed Salisu Yakubu as Head of department of Mass Communication in the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
Dr Yakubu who is the current Deputy Dean of the faculty, also doubles as the deputy director of the University’s Institute of Strategic and Development Communication.
Dr Yakubu who is currently a Senior Lecturer, served as the Co-ordinator of Postgraduate Diploma in the department between 2019 to 2020, has, since 2019, to date, been the Co-ordinator, Part-Time Degree Program.
The new HOD who served as the Public Relations Officer of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa between 2005 to 2018, was also at one time a Community Development Assistant at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja
He obtained his B. A, M. Sc and PhD degrees in Mass Communication from University of Jos in 2003, Benue State University in 2017 and Nasarawa State University in 2023, respectively.
