The President of Ahmadu Bello University Students Representative Council (ABUSRC) has, on behalf of the entire students of tertiary institutions in Kaduna State urged Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to facilitate a special intervention project by the federal government for the improved welfare of students.
He made the request before Seyi Tinubu in a gathering to engage students, organised by the ‘Renewed Hope Youth Engagement’ (RHYE) initiative led by Seyi Tinubu, at the Ahmadu Bello University’s Yusufu Bala Usman Hall.
He outlined the inadequacy of students’ transportation vehicles, insufficient funds to foot universities’ electricity bills, lack of adequate facilities for universities’ security personnel and lack of sufficient drugs in universities’ medical centres as major challenges in tertiary institutions across Kaduna State, which in turn affects students in their academic journey.

Highlighting the challenges faced by students due to Nigeria’s economic situation, Kallah said; ” We are currently in the fasting period, and many students are facing hardships. Numerous students are struggling to get something to break their fast with, making life unbearable for them. As their President, I receive complaints emails daily about the lack of feeding support. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to address this issue, nor do we have any sponsors for student meals. We request for palliative support to assist this group of students, as a hungry student cannot excel academically.”
“We believe that students are the future of the country and that their voices need to be heard and their welfare catered for. We would greatly appreciate it if these requests are addressed accordingly,” he added.
This is truly commendable!
It’s inspiring to see the students of ABU and neighboring universities in Kaduna State well represented by the ABUSRC President during the visit of Mr Seyi Tinubu (King of Boys).
This ABUSRC administration’s unwavering commitment to students’ welfare and representation as a top priority is highly admirable and worth acknowledging.
Kudos to the President and all members of the 2024/2025 Ahmadu Bello University Students’ Representative Council (ABUSRC) for their dedication to service.
Keep up the great work!
