Raindrops Institute of Management and Technology, Amannachi, today underwent a successful National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) approval and resource inspection visitation.

The Registrar of the institute, Dr. Okechukwu Vitalis Esiegwu, commended the Executive Secretary of NBTE, Professor Idris Bugaje, for his efforts in positioning Nigerian polytechnics to compete favourably with their global counterparts.

According to Dr. Esiegwu, “Nigeria’s polytechnics, under Professor Bugaje’s leadership, have been repositioned to compete favourably with other tertiary institutions in Nigeria due to his ingenuity and belief in the polytechnic sector.”

The Registrar spoke with Education Monitor shortly after the exit briefing of the NBTE team, led by Engineer Kabir Danja, who visited the institute for a two-day approval and resource inspection visitation.

Dr. Esiegwu thanked the team for their thoroughness in assessing the school and for providing guidance on the requirements for securing approval to commence academic activities.

He described the team as meticulous and ethical, believing that if the institute complied with their advice, it would commence academic activities on a strong footing.

The Registrar apologized for the absence of the Rector, Rev Fr. Dr Remigious Orjiukwu, who was on an official mission abroad.

He assured the team that the Rector is an educationist determined to contribute to the educational upliftment of his community and is prepared to implement the team’s recommendations.

In his remarks, the representative of the Executive Secretary of NBTE expressed satisfaction with the institute’s level of preparedness to join the academic community in Nigeria.

He noted that the institute’s name, Raindrops, signifies drops of water that fall from the sky during rain, and observed that the institute seems determined to provide life-giving education to the people of the community.

He argued that since water is life, and education is the key to success in life, the institute seems determined to give hope to the people and show them the way to success.
