Following President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent conferment of various categories of National Honours on some eminent Nigerians who distinguished themselves by way of serving the nation and its citizenry in various ways, concerned Nigerians have been pouring encomiums and accolades on some of the recipients of the historic Awards.
Some of the recipients of the prestigious Awards in the health community included the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehinare and the Chairman of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Muhammad Buba Marwa (Rtd).
Conferment of the awards on the duo of Ehinare and Marwa, who were both conferred with the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) have bee n described by different people as most deserving and timely
The Chief Medical Director of Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Shika – Zaria, Professor Ahmed Umdugas Hamidu, and The Medical Directors of Federal Medical Centres Jabi – Abuja, Professor Sa’ad Ahmed, and Keffi, Dr Yahaya Baba Adamu, have all described the ground breaking achievements of the health minister as truly deserving of accolades and reward.
In its goodwill message to the Chairman of NDLEA, the Network of West African Journalists Against Drugs (NEWAJAD) said General Marwa’s Award of the national honour couldn’t have come at a better time than this when he is on the verge of winning the war against illicit drugs in the country.
