Barely a month after the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin appointed the former Provost of Federal College of Education Bichi, Professor Bashir Muhammad Fagge, as his Special Adviser on Monitoring and Policy, the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly has appointed him as Consultant of the House’s standing committee on Federal Colleges of Education.
The veteran educationist and tertiary institutions’ administrator who successfully served out his tenure as the Provost of FCE Bichi early this year, proceeded to the National Commission of Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja, for his one year Sabbatical Leave, from where his appointment as a Senior Aide to the Deputy Senate President was announced.
In recognition of his wealth of experience and enormous capacity, the Bayero University Kano Don was designated as the Consultant to the House of Representatives standing Committee on Federal Colleges of Education.
A letter dated 10th August, 2023, signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon (Barr) Aliyu Wakil Boya conveying the appointment, titled, ‘Appointment As Committee Consultant’, partly read, “I am pleased to inform you that you have been appointed as the Committee Consultant on Federal Colleges of Education”
The letter also read, “your duties include, among others, – advising the committee on the activities of federal colleges of education and other related agencies”
“Other functions include analysis of documents or information received from federal colleges of education and other relevant stakeholders, liaising between the committee and agencies under its jurisdiction, and performing any other duty as may be directed by the chairman of the committee”, the letter further read.
