he Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed optimism that Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), stands to compete greatly with other technological institutions of the world Massachusetts institute technology and Stanford University.
Bello, who made this known in Osara, Kogi State recently, said if the two institutions could succeed in their beginnings, then CUSTECH will do it; vowing to lay strong foundations for the speedy development and the growth of the University.
“CUSTECH will achieve globally renowned recognition in the STEM and Artificial Intelligence”.
He also disclosed that the newly appointed pioneer principal officers met his administration’s rule of applying equity to every part of the state, noting that the new management was a ‘true confluence of diversity’; explaining that the major sections of the state were well-represented.
The governor said aside giving consideration to merit to each appointment, all members of the management team also represent a true confluence of diversity within the context in Kogi.
“We are as ethnically and religiously diverse as Nigeria itself and must apply State Character akin to the Federal Character principles incumbent in federal appointments,” he said.
On his part, the state Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, said the state University would prioritize the development of human resources for the state and the country that is proficient in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
