The Chief of Gwantu Malam Balarabe Abdullahi Karma has conferred the title of Garkuwan Gwantu on kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai, and the title of Gimbiyar Gwantu on his Deputy, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
The Chief announced the appointment Thursday after his coronation and presentation of staff of office to him by the Governor in Gwantu, headquarters of Sanga Local Governorment Council.
In his speech during the coronation ceremony the Chief of Gwantu who thanked the Governor for the commendable and people oriented projects his administration has executed in the local government, described him as the architect of the creation of twin Chiefdoms of Gwantu and Arak.
He said creation of the two Chiefdoms will no doubt help in bringing development to the doorstep of the two Chiefdoms.
Malam Karma also thanked the Deputy Governor who he said is one of the daughters of the Chiefdom that has been a loyal ally of the Governor, and who the Chiefdom is proud of.
Appointment of the Governor and his Deputy as Garkuwan Gwantu and Gimbiyar Gwantu was hailed by all discerning sons and daughters of the Chiefdom who they all described as well deserved and timely.
