The Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has approved the appointment of Professor Muhammad Isa Kida as the institution’s 3rd Substantive vice-chancellor.
Until his appointment, Professor Kida, was the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences of the University.
Kida, an accountant, received his letter of appointment from the Chairman of the FULafia Governing Council, Mrs Lola Fibisola Akande.
The letter stated that Kida’s appointment would last for a single tenure of five years starting from February 11, 2026.
The letter, issued by the Chairman of the Governing Council, dated October 29, 2025, hoped that Kida would bring “his wealth of experience to bear on the growth and development of the University.”
The Pioneer Vice-chancellor of the University was Professor Ekanem Braide who steered affairs of the University from 2011 to 2016, while the second Vice-chancellor, Professor M.S. Liman, who led the institution between 2016 and 2021, handed over to the third Vice-chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman who took over the reign of the institution in 2021, to hand over to Professor Muhammad Isa Kida in February 2026.
