Education Monitor Editor, Prof. MK. Aliyu, Takes Over From Prof. Adamu Ahmed As Director, ABU Advancement

The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Prof. Ibrahim Garba has approved the appointment of the Editor of Education Monitor Newspaper, as Director of University Advancement.
Professor Aliyu who is the first Professor of Archeology in Northern Nigeria, was until his appointment, Head, Archeology Department in the University’s Faculty of Arts.
Professor Aliyu who was also at one time a four year Deputy Dean of students of the university, under the administration of Professor Shehu Usman Abdullahi as Vice Chancellor.
The famous Professor of Archeology had also served for four years as Deputy Director Centre for Historical Research and Documentation of the university, also known as Arewa House.
Professor Aliyu who is one of the veterans and leading symbols of ASUU Activism in Northern Nigeria, apart from being one of the few longest serving National Secretariat staff of the union, was at different times its branch Secretary and Chairman in Ahmadu Bello Univeristy.
The former ABU ASUU Strongman who hails from Dutsen wai District of Kubau local Government Area of Kaduna State holds the traditional title of Dan Masanin Dutsen Wai.
