Born 3rd August, 1971 in his home state of Kastina, Danmalam who hails from Malumfashi LGA peaked his robust academic achievements with a PhD in Pharmacognosy in 2011 in ABU, having bagged his MSc. in the same field in the University 9 years earlier, and his B. Sc in Applied Chemistry from Usman Danfodiyo University (UDU), Sokoto much earlier in 1996.
His long teaching/working career which began on a very humble note when he became Chemistry Teacher at Government Army Day Secondary School, Minna while doing the mandatory one year service to his father land as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from July, 1996 to June 1997, and rose through various capacities at the University through his hardwork has seen him to this new rank of Professor of Pytochemistry and Anticonvulsant in the University.
The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has approved the promotion of Danmalam Habibu Umar to the post of Professor of Pytochemistry and Anticonvulsant in the University with immediate effect. Prior to this promotion, Danmalam was an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Drug Development of the prestigious institution.
