The Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) has hailed Professor Umar Muhammed Kaoje of the department of Political Science, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for returning the sum of N1.153.953.36 wrongly paid into his account as Salary.
A letter dated 11/September/2023 tiled ‘Letter of Commendation For Returning the Sum of N1.153, 953.36 Paid into your Account Post Contract’, which was copied to the Vice Chancellor of ABU, Professor Kabiru Bala, Signed by the Commandant of the Army University, Major General JO Ochai, partly read, “I am delighted to receive the message about the voluntary return of payment made to you after expiration of your contract with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA)” .
“This exhibition of integrity and accountability is truly inspirational and will surely resonate across different strata of the NDA Community. I applaud your uncommon moral courage and urge you to please sustain this patriotic and exemplary conduct”, the letter stated.
The Commandant further stated that, “On behalf of Staff and Cadets of NDA, I commend you for such patriotism exhibited in the conduct of voluntarily returning Public Funds, an act that is extremely rare in our clime. Please, do not rest on your oars, and kindly accept my assurances and consideration of the highest regards.
