The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has elected a renowned professional administrator from the Institution’s Faculty of Business Administration, Professor Bello Sabo as the Institution’s new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration.
With over two decades of experience in academia, Prof Sabo is respected as a Business administration Icon who has established himself as a distinguished scholar and administrator not only in the University but in the country.
Prof Sabo joined ABU in 1997 as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration. He holds a B.Sc degree in Business Administration from ABU, and MBA from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, and a PhD in Business Administration from ABU.
Prior to joining the University, Prof Sabo worked with the Sokoto State Government, serving in various capacities, including Chief Internal Auditor and Head of the Internal Control Unit.
Throughout his career, Prof Sabo has served in various administrative positions, including Head of Department of Business Administration, Dean of the Faculty of Administration, and Pioneer Dean of ABU Business School.
He has also served as an external examiner to several universities and polytechnics in Nigeria, including Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bayero University Kano, Nasarawa State University, University of Maiduguri, and Benue State University.
As a prolific researcher, Prof Sabo has published over 70 scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and presented over 60 papers at conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Professor Sabo’s research interests include Corporate Finance, Productions/Operations Management, and Quantitative Methods in Business Management. Prof Sabo is a member of several professional bodies, including the Management Academy of Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Management, and Institute of Corporate Administration.
Many members of the University community see Professor Sabo’s election as one that can help in bringing stability and progress to the university’s administrative affairs.
