23, 29, 1% Each Of 3,212 Made 1st Class, Pass Degrees

  • Two Overall Best Graduands Offered Auto Job, To Be Trained To Ph.D

The Vice Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Univeristy Lapai (IBBUL); Professor Muhammad Nasiru Maiturare has announced that 23 which represents one percent of the total of 3,212 graduates of 2018 and 2019 made First Class.

The vice chancellor revealed that while Yansahwu Adid of French department was the overall best graduating student in the 2017/2018 session with the CGPA of 4.77, Maryam Gomina of Physics Department was the overall graduating student in the 2018/2019 session with the CGPA of 4.73

Prof. Maiturare revealed that in keeping with the tradition of the university, the two overall best students have been offered automatic employment as Graduate Assistants in their respective departments and will be trained up to Ph.D level in due course.

The Vice Chancellor who made the revelation at the 3rd Combined Convocation Ceremony of the university which took place last Saturday in the Main Campus of the University in Lapai, said while 700 which represents 22% of the 3,212 made Second Class Upper, 1,990 which represents 62% graduated with Second Class Lower.

He added that while 470 (15%) graduated with Third Class Degree, 29(1%) graduated with Pass Degree.

Professor Maiturare elaborated that the Faculty with the highest number of First Class is Natural Science with 11, followed by the faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology which produced 5.

Others were faculties of languages and communication studies, Agriculture and Management/Social Sciences which produced three and two each respectively.
