Yobe State University has approved the promotion of its 20 Academic Staff to the rank of Professors and Associate Professors.
The Register of the University, Dr. Kalli Alkali Yusuf Gazali, who made this known in a statement he signed, said the promotion was approved by the Governing Council of the University at its 40th meeting held recently.
According to the Registrar, 11 members of Academic staff were promoted to the rank of Associate Professors and 9 to the rank of Professors.
The statement said those promoted to the rank of Professor include Professor Hamid Ali Tahir – Professor of Arabic Linguistics, Professor Goni Idriss Ali – Professor of Arabic Linguistics, Professor Al-Asali Aliyu Abdulkadir – Professor of Arabic Linguistics, Professor Umar Lawan Yusufari – Professor of Entrepreneurship and
Professor Ibrahim Tijjani Babalola – Professor of Organic Chemistry.
Others include Professor Ali Manzo Usman – Professor of Islamic Judicial and Political Thought, Professor Adam Abdullahi Muhammad – Professor of Islamic Judicial and Political Thought, Professor Adam Muhammad Abubakar- Professor of Islamic Finance and Professor Mohammed Bashir Alkali – Professor of Comparative Law.
While promoted to the rank of Associate Professor include Dr. Abdullahi Hassan Gana, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Karage, Dr. Yakubu Salisu, Dr. Babagana Mala Musti, Dr. Usman Mohammed Dakasku, and Dr. Ahmed Tahir Adamu Koki.
Others include Dr. Al-Khamis Muhammad Idriss , Dr. Abba Idris Adam, Dr. Agada Livinus Emeka, Dr. Habu Tela Abba and Dr. Amina Ibrahim Makintami.
