Professor Mohammad Dauda, a renowned academic from the University of Maiduguri, has achieved an unprecedented feat by becoming the first Nigerian to receive three prestigious awards from Japan.
The awards, conferred on Professor Dauda in recognition of his exceptional research and academic excellence, include the Ambassador of Japan’s Award in 2018, Japan Foreign Minister’s Award in 2020, and Japanese Government’s Award in 2024.
As a Mechanical Engineering expert, Professor Dauda has demonstrated remarkable expertise in Advanced Materials and Advanced Manufacturing Technology, including Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing).
Professor Dauda’s impressive educational background laid the foundation for his success. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the University of Maiduguri, a Master of Science Degree from the University of Lagos, and a Doctor of Engineering Degree from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan.
In his role as Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development at the University of Maiduguri, Professor Dauda has made significant contributions to the academic and research community.
A registered engineer with COREN and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Professor Dauda’s achievements showcase Nigeria’s growing presence in the global academic landscape.
This remarkable accomplishment solidifies Professor Dauda’s position as a leading figure in his field and serves as an inspiration to upcoming generations of Nigerian academics and researchers.
