President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Air Vice Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita (retd.) as the new pro-chancellor and chairman of Bayero University, Kano’s (BUK) Governing Council.
He takes over from Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, who remains chairman of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the move allows Gawuna to focus fully on his FHA role.
AVM Kaita, a former Director of Strategy at the Defence Headquarters and Chief of Defence, Transformation and Innovation, is recognized for his work in training and standardization during his Nigerian Air Force service.
