The Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, (TETFund), Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro, has assured the Professor Kabiru Bala-led Management of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, that TETFund will help the University complete it’s 8-year old abandoned Iconic 1000 Seat Capacity Multipurpose Hall at the Institution’s Samaru Main Campus.

Professor Bogoro who was briefly in the University over the weekend on a working visit, disclosed this in a chat with Education Monitor shortly after an exhaustive tour of the abandoned facility, expressed serious disappointment over the Contractor’s inability to complete the project, Eight years after it was awarded.

Professor Bogoro who said he was very impressed with the initial concept and design of the Multipurpose Hall, assured the University Management that TETFund will step in to ensure maintenance of quality of work at the site, speedy completion and take off of the edifice which if successfully completed, will be the first of its kind in the country.

“I will make sure that by God’s grace the project is completed and becomes fully operational before January 2021”, the Executive Secretary, who is not known for mincing words, assured.

 

Commenting on TETFund’s commendable and promised Intervention, the Vice Chancellor thanked the Executive Secretary for creating time, out of his very crowded schedules, to visit the University. He also thanked him for his passion and unprecedented goodwill for Ahmadu Bello University.

Professor Bala who described Professor Bogoro as an exemplary and rare leader who is committed and passionate about the country’s educational development, particularly, the tertiary education sector, said ABU is determined to support   the Executive Secretary in his dream to make Nigeria’s tertiary education sector the envy of other nations of the world.
