The Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), Professor Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, has denounced that the University’s school fees is the highest among all federal Universities in Nigeria
The Vice Chancellor who stated this in his reaction to news reaching the University that FUDMA students pay the highest school fees in the country , a reason why the fees are usually paid in two instalments – First and Second Semesters, debunked the claim by revealing that, “Our School Fees are the lowest and the most affordable in the country, at least among federal Universities”.
Professor Bichi said the University has discovered that this false information emanates from students who hide under the name of school fees to defraud their parents and sponsors every semester.
“These crop of students are the ones spreading this false information to justify their criminal acts, and in the cause of doing that, they end up giving bad impression about the University”.
The Vice Chancellor who warned these category of students who he described as few bad eggs among many good ones, to desist from this unholy act, vowed that any student that is reported and found guilty of this regrettable act will face the wrath of the University.
He revealed that the wisdom behind the university’s resolution to stagger payments of the school fees between first and second semester is to allow only indigent students whose parents can not afford to pay the school fees at once at the beginning of the session.
The Vice Chancellor therefore advised parents whose children and wards are schooling in FUDMA to learn to pay the school fees themselves from home, and if they can not, owing to lack of time, they should always request their children to tender receipts of payments of their school fees to them to verify, know and compare with the fees in the table below, which is the fees approved by the University’s Senate.
