Professor M T Ladan, a distinguished Nigerian law scholar and human rights expert in Africa, has been invited by the President of the African Human Rights Court in Arusha, Tanzania, Hon Lady Justice Imani D Aboud, to deliver the lead presentation at the 2nd Judicial Dialogue, organized by the African Human Rights Court, the East African Court of Justice, and the ECOWAS Court of Justice.

Professor Ladan’s participation underscores his commitment to advancing justice and human rights in Africa.

This invitation solidifies his reputation as a 23 year old leading African human rights expert.

His presentation is expected to provide valuable insights and stimulate meaningful discussions among participants.

The 2nd Judicial Dialogue aims to enhance collaboration among African human rights courts and institutions, promote capacity building, and address emerging human rights challenges in Africa.

The prestigious event, taking place from September 18-20, 2024, in Arusha, Tanzania, brings together human rights practitioners, presidents, justices, and legal officers from across Africa.

Professor Ladan, Hubert Humphrey Fellow, USA, renowned for his expertise in human rights law, will set the context for the dialogue, sharing his insights on emerging human rights challenges and opportunities in Africa.

His academic achievements are complemented by his extensive experience in human rights advocacy, research, and policy development.

Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Ladan has worked tirelessly to promote and protect human rights in Africa. He has served as a consultant to various international organizations, including the United Nations, the African Union, and the European Union.

Professor Ladan’s research focuses on human rights and governance in Africa, international human rights law, and conflict resolution. He has authored numerous publications, including “Human Rights in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities” and “The African Human Rights System: Prospects and Challenges.”
