Also appointed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala, as one of the Directors in the University to serve under him, is Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Sule of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Institution’s immediate past Director of Academic Planning, who was appointed Director of the Institution’s Distance Learning Center (DLC).
Professor Sule takes over from Dr. Aminu Ladan Sharehu, the immediate past Executive Secretary of National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna.
Born in Kontagora, the headquarters of Kontaagora Local Government in Niger State on 23rd September 1966, Ibrahim Mohammed Sule is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Professor Ibrahim Mohammed Sule attended Rimaye Primary School Kontagora 1979, Government Science College Kagara 1984, School of Basic Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria 1985, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, 1989 (B. Pharm), Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, 1999, (M.Sc.), Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, 2003 (Ph.D.).
Professor Ibrahim Mohammed Sule began his career as an Intern Pharmacist with Niger State Ministry of Health in 1989 and rose up to the rank of Senior Pharmacist in the same ministry.
He moved to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 1997 as an Assistant Lecturer, Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry. He rose through the ranks and became a Professor in 2011.
Professor Ibrahim Sule held several academic and administrative positions some of which are; Head, Pharmacy Department, General Hospital Kagara Niger State, 1992-1993, Quality Control Manager Niger State Infusion Plant, Minna. Niger State 1993- 1994, Head, Pharmacy Department, General Hospital Tungan Magajiya Niger State 1993- 1997, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria 2006-2010, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria 2007-2011, Deputy Director, Directorate of Academic Planning & Monitoring Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Dec. 2012-Dec2013, Ag. Director, Directorate of Academic Planning & Monitoring Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Dec. 2013 to Feb 2014, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry. Gombe State University, Gombe, July 2018- May 2019, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Gombe State University, Gombe, Jan 2019-May2019, Director, Distance Learning Centre Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria May 2020 to date.
Professor Sule attended many local and international conferences and have over 60 publications in both local and international journals.
Professor Sule is a member of several professional bodies, amongst them are; Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (MPSN), Nigeria Association Pharmacist in Academia (MNAPA) and he was a member of Pharmacist Council of Nigeria PCN). In his academic Journey, Professor Ibrahim Sule supervised 19 M.Sc. Thesis and 16 Ph.D. Dissertation.
