The Governing Council of Association of National Accountants of Nigerian University (ANAN University), has appointed Professor Inuwa Musa Fodio of Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK), as the Institution’s Pioneer Vice Chancellor.

The Council has also approved the appointment of the immediate past Vice Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Muhammad Akaro Mainoma as the Pioneer Council Chairman of the ANAN University.

Also appointed to serve on the Governing Council is Arch Shehu Ahmad Tukur, Who was the leading Consultant for the immediate past Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Umaru Tanko Almakura. Tukur is a member of various Boards and Organisations in the country, including the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA).

A statement signed by Professor Mainoma who is the current President of ANAN, and the Founding Head of the ANAN University, stated that all the appointments take immediate effect.

The statement further disclosed that academic and administrative activities at the Institution’s permanent site at Kwall, Plateau State, are expected to commence in March, this year.

“The University will offer Accounting Courses and other related Courses in the field of Accountancy”, the statement added

Commenting on Professor Fodio’s appointment as the Pioneer Vice Chancellor, Professor Mainoma who is the Academic and Administrative Mentor of Professor Fodio, said he (Fodio) was appointed purely on merit and in view of his abundant capacity, reliability and commitment to duty.
“Professor Fodio was appointed after careful assessment of his records and achievements”, Mainoma added

Professor Fodio who is a Professor of Accounting, was Professor Mainoma’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, when he (Mainoma) was NSUK’s Vice Chancellor.

Before his appointment as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Fodio had held several positions in the University (NSUK), some of which Included the Institution’s Head of Department of Accounting, and Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies.

With the appointment of Professor Fodio, this brings to three, the number of Professors of NSUK that emerged Vice Chancellors in Nigeria within two months. The other two are Professors AbdulRahman and Akinwumi who were recently appointed as Vice Chancellors of Federal University Lafiya and Lokoja, respectively.
