The Managing Editor of Diplomacy Monitor Newspaper, Madam Zainab Zakaria, has lost her maternal grandmother, Alhaja Muyibat Adejumoke Lawal (Nee Adeyemi)

Aged 77 Nee Adeyemi died in New Jersey the United States, on 7th May, 2021, after a brief illness, where she had since been buried the following day according to Islamic rites.

Alhaja Muyibat was born in March 22 1943… to the royal family of Alhaji Adeyemi of Atiba in Ira, Ijebu ode, Ogun State.

She attended Muslim Girls High school Ijebu ode. After her standard 3, she proceeded to Singer Tailoring Institute where she graduated with flying Colors as a seamstress

She was also a famous trader, with chains of stores at the old Dugbe Market at Ibadan. When the old Dugbe Market was burnt in 1993 and was subsequently closed down, she returned home to Imalefalafia and opened a new store.

She was married to the late Alhaji TA Lawal, a business man and the first BMW authorized dealer in Ibadan.

The deceased who was a devout Muslim is survived by many children, grand and great grand children.

She was an active member of Ansarul Deen society of Nigeria Division 3 Oke Ado branch till the time of her death.

The late Alhaja Muyibat was loyal to her husband and devouted to her children and her community.
