Recall that ISWAP terrorists released a viral video on Sunday night which captured the moment abducted Kaduna Train Passengers were brutalised by the terrorists. Less than 24 hours after the viral video trended on social media, the terrorists released three victims, comprising of two males and one female.
According to Peoples Gazette, one of the released victim is Deji Oyewunmi who is said to be a Manager at an Immigration firm, and before he was released, N100M was paid as ransom. The Peoples Gazette reported that Mr Oyewunmi raised N60M, while the remaining N40M was raised by his friends and family members.
One of those who participated in the fundraising alleged that some soldiers collected N100,000 to N220,000 from the ransom they raised.
Speaking further, the source alleged that on their way to the forest in Kajuru where they dropped the money, they met some soldiers at the checkpoint leading to they forest. The source alleged that the soldiers told them after collecting the money that it was their share of the money, and that the bandits understand.
The source also alleged that they were short of N700,000 by the time they got to the bandits after the soldiers allegedly collected from the ransom.
