The Chairman of Keffi Local Government Council in Nasarawa state, Alhaji Baba Shehu and his Special Assistant, Muhammad Tanimu alias Senior Man, who were kidnapped by heavily armed gunmen have finally been released.
The duo who were released yesterday (Saturday) after paying their captors more than N10m as ransom, arrived their Keffi homes at about 12:00pm. The Chairman whose legs were reportedly swollen as a result of long treks they were subjected to into the forest where they were held, has been admitted in an undisclosed medical facility for observation and treatment.
It would be recalled that the Chairman and his SA were kidnapped on Friday evening on their way back home from lafia, where they went to attend official function. The kidnappers initially requested for the payment of N30m
Education Monitor gathered that his Police orderly, Alhassan Habib, who was a final year Sociology student with the Nasarawa State University Keffi, was reported to have been killed on the spot while trying to provide security to his Boss.
