The Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Isa Muhammadu, has commended the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Sa’adu Abubakar for taking an unprecedented, bold and commendable step to complement government’s efforts to bring enduring peace, unity and harmony in Southern Kaduna.
Alhaji Muhammadu who spoke to Palace Monitor in an exclusive chat in his Palace in Jama’a, said Sultan’s Constitution of the Southern Kaduna Peace Committee and subsequent appointment of eminent and reputable Royal Fathers to tour the entire Southern Kaduna Communities with the view of engaging their royal fathers in hard and frank talk on the causes of the age-long crises in the area that had almost shut all doors of hope, peaceful harmony and co-existence between the adherents of different faiths in, and to suggest best ways of ensuring enduring peace and development in the area.
The Emir of Jama’a said the Sultan’s committee simply comprises mainly of highly credible and patriotic royal fathers whose lives, deeds, passion and loyalty are to the Nigerian nation, its indivisibility and sovereignty.
“To have the likes of the Emir of Lafiyan Bare-bari, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad on the committee is no doubt enough testimony that the Sultan really means good and is certainly aiming at getting a fruitful and enduring results that if government will genuinely and sincerely implement its recommendations, our communities will once again bounce back to progressive and enviable path, and will once again experience the long anticipated peace and development in the zone”, he assured.
Alhaji Muhammadu who expressed confidence that the Sultan’s committee will soon swing into action to fulfil its mandate, however called on the people, elites, political leaders, elderstatesmen and the monarchs in all Emirates and Chiefdoms in southern kaduna to support the committee which has no political or any form of sentiment.
He prayed to the Almighty Allah to guide the committee in its determination to get to the roots of the decades long misunderstanding, meaningless, regrettable and avoidable bloodshed in the area.
