Provost of the Federal College of Freshwater Fisheries Technology (FCFFT), New Bussa, in Niger State, Dr David Babatunde Olaosebikan, has said the management under his leadership would pursue high academic excellence as contained in the institution’s vision.

The provost, in a statement issued at the weekend, said he would provide the enabling environment for students, staff members and the college community in the implementation of the programmes and policies of his administration.

The institution, he added, would provide qualitative leadership that would meet the yearnings and aspirations of members of the academic and host communities.

Olaosebikan, who undertook an assessment of critical infrastructure and staff welfare, said, “Today, the college community has witnessed a facelift; staff members are well motivated; students’ needs are promptly attended to while the security of the college remains sacrosanct”.

The provost stated that his administration was putting in place efforts towards maintaining a free flow of information channel that would encourage a feedback system as part of enhancing dynamic management of the institution. He therefore urged the staff members to redouble their efforts in the discharge of their duties, advised students to improve on their commitment to learning in order to achieve success as enabling environment is being provided for them to study, even as he charged entire College community to be security conscious and be their brothers’ keepers at all times.

Also, the acting registrar, Alhaji Nura Abdullahi, said “the leadership of Dr. David Olaosebikan in the school had ensured fairness that has brought about relative calm and peace. There is no favoritism, there is a reward system for staff that distinguish themselves in the discharge of their responsibilities which is an innovation in the history of the College.

“The erudite scholar, Dr. David Babatunde Olaosebikan, is determined to reposition the College and to tackle challenges as they unfold, even as he has demonstrated sagacity and resilience not to be deterred by the enormity of the task ahead of him”, Abdullahi said.
