The Federal University Dutse in Jigawa state has been commended for lacing entrepreneurship learning in all its programmes that would produce graduates that will become wealth creators rather than job seekers.
The pioneer Chancellor of the University, His Majesty Dr Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi, Aku-Uka, Kuvyon II, of Wukari, gave the commendation at the 4th Convocation Ceremony of the University recently.
The royal father said the agricultural outreach programmes that will incorporate the teaming farmers and youth in Jigawa state as well as the revitalization of the cultural industries propelled by the University Community Enterprise Initiative will go a long way in preparing the students to be great potentials to the society.
Describing the unique features of the University, His Majesty said FUD is known for its stable academic calendar and serene environment for learning. He said the University is a Hallmark for nationalism and patriotism as students cut across 34 out of 36 states of the federation.
On his own part, the Pro Chancellor and the Chairman Governing Council of the University, Alhaji Ibrahim Akuyam, in his “humble narration of milestone” applauded the leadership of the University for the consistent and impressive achievement in the institution.
He said apart from the foundational faculties of the University- faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Social Sciences and the sciences which have been fully accredited, new faculties of Management, Medicine and Applied sciences and Computing have also been established. He expressed optimism that in no distant time, the University would be greatly transformed into a more globally recognized and competitive scholarly entity.
