Education Monitor Group of Newspapers Ltd has floated an Online newspaper called TVET News Monitor and two hard magazines called Iconic Rectors’ Monitor and TVET News Monitor Magazine.
The Publisher and Group Editor-in-chief of the company, Hajj Waziri Isa Adam (Wazirin Gwantu III), announced this in his goodwill message during a retreat organized by the Council of Heads of Polytechnics (COHEADS) in Abuja, recently.

He said floating the three news channels was prompted in recognition of the growing importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the need to accord the required media visibility to it, which is a result-oriented and needed initiative for national development.
He said just like the company floated Iconic Vice-chancellors’ Monitor Magazine to track activities of the Chief Executives of our Ivory Towers, it found it necessary to commence the publication of Iconic Rectors’ Monitor to give the same media visibility to the activities of the heads of the Polytechnic’s sector who are the live engine of TVET.

He said the commendable and joint efforts of the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa and that of the Executive Secretary of National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Professor Idris Bugaje, to reposition TVET in line with global standards deserves our support.
“We mean to ensure that all TVET activities are reported in such a way that every home in Nigeria embraces it as a recipe for national development”, he revealed.
The Publisher who thanked the executive secretary for the opportunity to partner with the board to commence the publication of the TVET News Monitor, urged the Rectors to cooperate with the leadership of the twin magazines which are out to serve them.

He called on all Nigerian Rectors to liaise with the Rectors of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Engr. Dr Ibrahim Bello Bashir, the Rector of Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori, Rivers State, Engr. Dr Ledum S. Gwarah, and Engr. Dr Mohammed Ali of Kaduna Polytechnic, who are going to steer affairs of the Magazines.
