Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai, has charged the newly coronated third Third Class Chief of Fadan Ayu Chiefdom in Sanga Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Halidu Ibrahim Ayu, to ensure that his subjects key into his efforts to bring about sustainable peace and development in the state.
Governor El-Rufai who spoke through his deputy, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, during the coronation and presentation of staff of office to the Chief on Thursday, 19th, October, 2022, called on the people of the Chiefdom in particular and the entire local government to support government’s policies which are always aimed at making the state the best in the country in all aspects of development.
The Governor wished the Chief long life and enduring peace as he settles down to steer affairs of the Chiefdom to enviable heights.

In his acceptance speech, the Chief, Alhaji Ibrahim, who announced the Chiefdom’s decision to confer the traditional titles of ‘AKAKUN’ of Fadan Ayu on the Governor, and ‘SARAUNIYAR’ Fadan Ayu, on his deputy, thanked the Governor for his unwavering efforts to provide people in the state with all the social and infrastructural facilities needed for decent living in all parts of the state.
He commended the Governor, particularly, for his bold implementation of the new traditional Institutions law, which he described as, “another icing on the cake that will further enhance peaceful co-existence amongst the citizens of the state”.
He assured the Governor that the trust and responsibility reposed on him will be upheld and accomplished in line with the provisions of the laws and regulations of Kaduna State and the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.

In Sarki Halidu’s speech which was emotion laden, he told the crowd that, “I must thank the Almighty Allah for selecting me amongst many, not because I am more qualified than all of them, but because I was destined by Him, to be the Chief of Fadan Ayu in this very period”.
He therefore called on his subjects to rally round him so that they collectively develop the Chiefdom.
The Chief used the opportunity to once again pray to the Almighty Allah to bless the soul of his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Mamuda Amark who during his reign, contributed immensely to the development of Fadan Ayu Chiefdom in particular, and the state in general.
The Chief who presented lists of key demands of his people to the Governor which included – upgrading of the status of the Chiefdom from third to Second Class, construction of road networks in all the major towns of the Chiefdom, provision of electricity in the entire Chiefdom, whose people are farmers of all sorts of crops that have historically contributed to the agricultural development of the state.
Other demands that need urgent attention by the state government, according to the Chief, are the upgrading of Primary Health Centres and renovation of all Secondary Schools in the Chiefdom.
