19 persons have been dismissed by The National Examination Council (NECO) for certificate forgery.

The dismissal followed the report of the certificate verification committee of the Council indicting them of certificate forgery.

A statement from the Council and signed by the Head of information and public relations unit, Mr Azzez Sani said the affected persons, whose authenticity of credentials was questioned, were invited by the certificate verification committee for scrutiny.

The committee, after thorough scrutiny found that their certificates had been forged.

The Governing Board at its 52 regular meeting, after considering the report of the committee, approved the dismissal of the affected persons.

Education Monitor recalled that in November 2019, the Council had dismissed 70 persons for the same offence.
