The Postgraduate College, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has approved the introduction of a Periodic Bulletin as its official medium for disseminating information to the postgraduate community.
According to a bulletin signed by the Provost, Prof. O.O. Okubanjo, the initiative is in furtherance of the College Management’s commitment to effective communication, transparency, and enhanced service delivery.
The bulletin is designed to bridge the communication gap between College Management, Faculties, Academic Departments, Supervisors, Postgraduate Students, Researchers, and other stakeholders.
It will serve not only as a source of timely and accurate information relating to the activities, programmes, policies, and operations of the College, but also as a platform for documenting achievements, milestones, and ongoing activities.
Contents to be covered include:
– Admission announcements and statistics
– Registration procedures and updates
– Orientation programmes and matriculation ceremonies
– Thesis/dissertation submission guidelines and release
– Oral defence schedules
– Research workshops, seminars, colloquia and public lectures
– Examination notices and results processing updates
– Scholarships and grant opportunities
– Management decisions, committee reports and quality assurance activities
– Staff and student achievements
– ICT and library service updates
The Management expressed confidence that the bulletin will become a valuable and reliable source of information for the entire postgraduate community.
The bulletin will be available in electronic copies on the College website and in hard copies on available notice boards within the University.
In a related development, the College Management has also approved a revised duration of one year for appointment letters of external examiners. It stated that any appointment letter exceeding one year from the date of issuance will be considered invalid and must be revalidated.
