The Department of Mass Communication, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has lost a senior lecturer, Dr Musa Bara’u Gamji.

Dr Gamji slumped and died yesterday in a mosque in his country home, Gusau, during Isha’i prayers.

Until his death, Dr Gamji was the coordinator of Postgraduate Programs of the department of Mass Communication in the university.

Dr Gamji, before the services of Ahmadu Bello University, had worked under the Zamfara State Primary Education Board, Gusau, as a Classroom teacher and school Head Teacher between 1993-2000. He had also worked at Zamfara Radio and Television Service, Gusau, between 2001-2014.

Gamji had held several other positions which included Treasurer, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Zamfara state chapter in 2014; Associate member, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, ANIPR in 2013; Member, Budget Working Group, (BWG) Zamfara state in 2013; Director, Research and Documentation, Media, and Publicity Consult, Gusau,

Zamfara State; and Courseware Developer for Distance learning Centre, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

In a condolence letter released by the Mass Communication Students’ Association (MACOSA), he was described as a kind, humble and supportive lecturer that will always be remembered by students.
