The ENACTUS team of Ahmadu Bello University have won a prize of two thousand dollars ($2,000) for its victory at the Crosspoint Innovate 2025 competition.

This was contained in a report on the outcome of the competition to the Vice-Chancellor by the Faculty Advisor, ENACTUS ABU, Prof M K Aliyu, mni.

Dedicated to celebrating and empowering Nigerian entrepreneurs, the competition took place in Lagos on 26th April, 2025.

The team’s project, ‘Plastic to Paint”, led by Daniel Chukwueloka Monyei, was declared winner of the competition.

Giving a highlight on the team’s winning project, Prof Aliyu told the Vice-Chancellor that the project offered an innovative solution to plastic waste by converting it into eco-friendly paints and coatings.

The Faculty Advisor also explained that the project impressed and satisfied the judges with its originality, impact potential, and business model.

On the journey to the competition finals, he said that ENACTUS ABU’s two innovative enterprises – Pub Polish and Plastic to Paint – were selected among the top 26 most promising led businesses in Nigeria.

He said that this was after a rigorous selection process of countless applicants from across the country with ENACTUS ABU’s Plastic to Paint project advancing to the top five finalists.

Prof Aliyu expressed appreciation for the continuous support of the University Management and urged that the feat should be used as a stepping stone for deeper institutional collaboration.

The Faculty Advisor also stressed that the ENACTUS ABU would continue to remain committed to driving change, empowering students, and representing the university at national and global innovation stages.
