ABU Declares 6th January 2020 As Commencing Date For 2019/2020 Academic Session

At its 499th regular meeting, the Senate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, approved the 6th of January, 2020 as the commencing date of 2019/2020 academic session
According to the University’s Special Bulletin signed by the University’s Registrar, and Secretary to Council, Malam A. A. Kundila, First Semester’s lectures will begin on 20th January, 2020 to end by 30th of May, 2020.
The Special Bulletin also said Second Semester of the Session will commence on the 31st of May, 2020 to end by 17th October, 2020.
The Bulletin however stressed that Registration for the 2019/2020 session will take two weeks to complete, beginning from the first day of resumption (6th January 2019) to 18th January, 2020.
The Bulletin further stated that students will proceed for mid- semester break of first semester on Monday 2nd March to return on Saturday 7th March.
The University has also set aside Monday 27th of July to Saturday 8th August as Mid Semester Break of second semester and Eid – Kabir Holiday.
