Children of Divine Favour Prayer Assembly Ministries, Mowe, Ogun State gathered over the weekend to lift their voices in prayer for divine intervention over the recent abduction of school children and their teachers in Ogbomoso and its environs in Oyo State, as well as other Nigerians suffering in captivity across the country.
The gathering, which was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, was for the church’s Annual Children’s Anniversary, themed “God shall show up for our children” – Genesis 21:17-20.

The Head Pastor of the church, a renowned Scholar in the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, University of Lagos, Professor Pastor Tayo Popoola, joined the children and prayed for God’s mercy, protection, and speedy release of the kidnapped children and their teachers. He also committed the entire nation into God’s hands. He prayed that God would endow leaders at every level in the country with divine wisdom to manage national affairs at this critical point in time.
In his sermon at the occasion, Pastor Popoola urged Nigerians to pray more for all our leaders at various levels of governance, adding that this is a requirement prescribed by God Himself for national peace as contained in the book of 1 Timothy 2:1-2 which states that “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

Pastor Popoola further prayed that as God timely showed up and intervened in the affairs of Hagar and her son Ishmael, God shall similarly show up timely and intervene in the affairs of this nation.
A Grand Patron of the church, Mrs. Folashade Oyesanya, congratulated the children on the anniversary and also prayed for national peace and security across the country.
She urged religious leaders across the country to rise to the occasion and pray more for the country, adding that “prayer is a major responsibility of every religious organization. Help the nation now by calling upon God to intervene in the country’s affairs because we all need peace.”
