The Head, Department of Journalism, Broadcasting and Media Studies, University of Lagos, Professor Ifeoma Amobi, has saluted Nigerian workers for their dedication, resilience, and hard work in building a better society.
Professor Amobi gave the commendation in a special Workers’ Day message released on Thursday, May 1, 2026, to mark this year’s celebration.
In the message, signed by the Head of Department, the Professor of Communication described workers as the backbone of national development and praised their unwavering commitment to service.
“Today, we celebrate the dedication, resilience, and hard work of all professionals who contribute to building a better society,” Professor Amobi stated.
She specifically extended appreciation to staff, faculty, students, alumni, and partners of the Department of Journalism, Broadcasting and Media Studies for their impact and commitment.
“To our amazing staff, faculty, students, alumni, and partners — thank you for your unwavering commitment and impact,” the message read.
Professor Amobi added, “Your work matters. Your efforts inspire. You are appreciated. Happy Workers’ Day!”.
The Workers’ Day message, issued under the banner of the Department of Journalism, Broadcasting and Media Studies, University of Lagos, carried the department’s motto: Nurturing Voices, Shaping Narratives.
