The Students’ Representative Council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU-SRC), led by President Ibrahim Nazeer Kallah, has organized an Entrepreneurship Summit for ABU students.
The summit, designed and executed by the ABU-SRC’s Entrepreneurship Committee, led by Vice-President Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, trained over 100 students from various faculties.
Held from August 23-25, 2025, at the Mamman Kontagora Square on the university’s main campus, the summit focused on four skills: Digital Skills/Blockchain, Catering by Crispy Delicacy (@crispy_delicacy, X and IG), Photography by Big Boss Gallery (X: Official_Bigbos & IG: Bigbosz_gallery, Official_bigbosz) and Videography by LikiTheCreator (@likithecreator X and IG). Partnering organizations included SMEDAN and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
Trainers provided hands-on experience, equipping students with practical skills. The CAC staff also instructed participants on self-registering their businesses.
During a visit, ABU-SRC President Kallah commended participants for attending, stating: “This initiative aligns with our mandate to empower students with entrepreneurship skills, enabling them to start independent businesses, as white-collar jobs are scarce.”
Kallah added, “All participants will receive certificates, and we’re discussing potential startup stipends and loans with SMEDAN to support your business launches.”
